Orators: Speaking with Purpose, Competing with Confidence

In a world where ideas travel with speed in an ever-changing landscape, our students need more than confidence. They need the ability to think critically, speak persuasively and engage meaningfully with issues beyond themselves. 

Through the Orators talent development programme under our Applied Learning Programme in English Language, students deepen their public speaking and debating skills through weekly training sessions. Guided by experienced debate coaches and public speakers, our Orators learn to speak with poise, eloquence and conviction, whether they are presenting an argument, delivering a speech or conducting an interview. 

Beyond school, our Orators are given opportunities to test their voices on bigger platforms through inter-school, national and even international-level competitions. These include platforms such as the Singapore Secondary Schools Debating Studentships and the Orators’ Trophy, where students sharpen their craft, broaden their perspectives and represent Greenridge with pride.
