2018 Careers Day at GSS!

“Choose a job you love, and you will never
have to work a day in your life.”

At Greenridge Secondary we believe in enabling our students to realise their dreams and pursue their passion. Careers Day is part of the Education and Career Guidance team’s effort to inculcate in our students the Joy of Learning and the spirit of Entrepreneurial Dare.
Students utilising interactive apps to find out more information about courses at tertiary institutions

This event enabled our students to revisit their post-secondary options as they interacted with various representatives from tertiary institutions and explored the industries of work that appealed to their interests.

Inspiring sessions with our speakers from the various industries

Here are some nuggets of wisdom our Greenridgeans gained from their experience at Careers Day 2018:

“The talk by the entrepreneur and his experiences in his line of work helped me understand the challenges of starting up and running a business. I learnt that challenges are meant to be overcome and I aspire to follow in his footsteps”

Phang Jun Jie

“After listening to the sharing by the early childhood educator, I’m clearer on the expectations of not only the job but the journey and experiences of an educator. I’m now very certain about what I want to do, and I’m going to submit my application for the Early Childhood Education diploma at Ngee Ann Poly”

Nur Haziqah Bte Rahman

“I was able to speak with the representatives from various polys and find out more about their course requirements and EAE application procedures. I am now more aware of what I need to do to fulfill my aspirations. I am confident I will succeed.”

Winston Ng Yong Jie

“I was initially only interested to explore engineering as a career. But after attending today’s sharing session by the representative from the police force, I’m inspired to explore a career in that field.”

Ahmad Al Haziq

“After hearing from the social worker at today’s Careers Day, I’m inspired to explore social work as my future career. I know that it will not be easy and there are many challenges I will need to overcome, but I really want to give back to society.”
