A high-achieving CCA in GSS, Rugby is a sport that demands perseverance and teamwork. GSS Rugby endeavours to develop good technical skills in our players as well as to nurture gentlemen with sportsmanship.
Through our training sessions, we aim to instill in members a strong sense of camaraderie and a love for the sport. Besides participating in the annual National Schools Rugby Championship, our GSS Rugby players are also exposed to the rigors of the sport through friendly games with other schools and through our participation in various external rugby tournaments.
GSS has a rich rugby culture where we were the national champions back in the 1980s. The current coach, Coach Tay, is a Ex- Greenridgean and was part of the Championship winning team.
GSS Rugby has been very successful in the National Schools Rugby Competitions Bowl Category in the previous few years.
As rough as things may get on the field, we will always respect our opponents and play a fair game of rugby with good spirits and sportsmanship.
