新 年 快 乐！Celebrating the Lunar New Year
The students and staff of Greenridge Secondary School welcomed the Year of the Dog with much festive cheer. The day started off with our Mother Tongue Fortnight activities that saw all students engaged in a wide array of meaningful cultural activities including Chinese calligraphy, batik painting and Villu Pattu (traditional Indian story telling through songs).
This year marked the beginning of a new tradition - the welcoming of senior citizens from Lions Befrienders. The senior citizens enjoyed interacting with our students over breakfast and partook in the school’s concert celebrations to usher in the Year of the Dog. They were also each gifted with Mandarin oranges, a paper cutting of Chinese characters and a bag of goodies. It was a meaningful day filled with rich learning and warm interactions.
